GPS triggers

On an outdoor route, visitors look at their surroundings, not at their screen. The story starts by itself at the place it’s about.

Walk, look and listen

The audio starts automatically as soon as a visitor reaches the right spot. Walkers go at their own pace and hear the story that belongs to each place.

  • Nobody has to search for the next sign
  • A map of the stops if the GPS signal drops
  • Works in the browser, without an app
  • Also in places where you can’t put anything up
  • Walkers listen and look up along a canal in a historic city centre

    City walks

Past façades, squares and canals, walkers hear the story of the place where they’re standing, in Dutch, German, English or Polish.

  • A walker listens by a marker post on a dune path

    Nature areas

On a route through the area, the story starts at the viewpoint or the pond. If the GPS signal drops, walkers choose their stop on the map.

Indoors and outdoors, in one tour

Does your route also go indoors, or would a visitor rather choose for themselves? These ways to start a stop always work, alongside GPS too.

  • A QR code

At every stop, or at the start of the route.

  • The stop number

Visitors type in the number on the sign.

  • A link

Every stop has its own link, for your website or a newsletter, for example.

  • Or an NFC tag

With the stop’s link. Visitors hold their phone against it.

Questions about GPS triggers

Do GPS triggers also work indoors?

Indoors, GPS is too imprecise to start the audio in the right room. There you use QR codes, numbers or NFC tags. You can combine both in one tour.

What if the GPS signal drops?

Then visitors see a map of the stops and choose where to carry on listening.

What if a visitor doesn’t want to share their location?

Then the tour simply works without it. The visitor chooses the stop themselves, scans a QR code or types in the number. Nothing is lost.

Do visitors need internet along the way?

Yes. The tour streams the audio for each stop. The audio uses little data, so a weak signal is usually enough.
