A museum full of stories, now to listen to as well
The Natuurhistorisch en Volkenkundig Museum Oudenbosch (NVMO) shows four collections in the Reginabouw on the market square, a building dating from 1882: nature, geology, ethnology and archaeology. The collections go back to the mid-nineteenth century and are displayed in authentic showcases.
With so many objects, not every story fits on a label. The museum wanted to give visitors the background, the surprising facts and the cultural context of the pieces that move them, in their own language and at their own pace.
That’s why, since March 2026, a Wandrz audio tour has been available across 52 remarkable objects. Visitors listen on their own phone, in Dutch, English, German, Turkish, Polish, Ukrainian or Arabic.
What the museum has now
One tour in seven languages and no equipment at the front desk.
Seven languages
Besides Dutch, English and German, also Turkish, Polish, Ukrainian and Arabic. That way a wide audience can follow the stories.
On visitors’ own phones
The museum doesn’t have to lend out, charge or clean anything. Visitors open the tour, choose a language and listen with their own earphones.
Managed in-house
A new object or story? The museum edits the tour itself, views the new version on its own web address and puts it live, in every language.
